Supporting Change in Small Groups is a resource designed to train counsellors, organisations, churches and group facilitators with an understanding of group processes, relevant information, skills, strategies and practical tools to enable them to design and facilitate effective groups. It is intended to equip beginners with knowledge and skills and also to build on existing expertise. Therefore, it is relevant for both experienced group facilitators and beginners. The aim of this book is twofold:
- To generate enthusiasm and commitment towards establishing effective and productive groups.
- To stimulate counsellors, organisational leaders, Pastors and group facilitators to design and facilitate groups that support genuine community and transformational change.
Part 1: Training and Small Group Experience. This section is divided into topics and contains a summary of relevant information and practical exercises, including session outlines, suggested time frames, training content, and resources relevant to each topic or section.
Part 2: Small Group Resources. This section consists of practical ideas, activities and exercises for use in small groups.
